This Privacy Policy describes how Carrom Live (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our websites, portal, score links, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this policy. Related rules of use are in our Terms of Service.
1. Who we are
Carrom Live provides tools for carrom clubs, organizers, and players to manage tournaments, publish live scores, and stream matches to YouTube. Privacy questions: support@carromlive.com.
2. Information we collect
Account and profile
- Club and portal account details (name, email, authentication data, club membership roles).
- Player profile details (name, nickname, phone number used for WhatsApp OTP login, optional profile photo).
- Tournament and event data you enter (rosters, matchups, scores, venue information).
Communications
- Phone numbers used to send WhatsApp one-time passcodes and optional score-link messages via our messaging provider.
Technical data
- Standard log and device data needed to operate the Service (for example IP address, browser type, and request timestamps). We may use cookies or similar technologies for session authentication and essential site function.
3. Google and YouTube information
Carrom Live uses YouTube API Services so clubs and players can connect a YouTube channel and create, start, and stop live broadcasts from the Service.
When you choose Connect YouTube, Google asks you to authorize Carrom Live. Depending on your role, we may access:
- Your YouTube channel identity (for example channel ID and title).
- OAuth access and refresh tokens needed to call YouTube APIs on your behalf.
- Live streaming resources you create or select through Carrom Live (stream keys / ingestion addresses, live broadcast IDs, titles, status, and watch URLs).
We request the Google OAuth scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube so we can manage YouTube live streams for features you explicitly use in the portal or on the public Stream page. We do not use YouTube access to read private videos or manage content unrelated to those livestreaming features.
Use of YouTube API Services through Carrom Live is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.
4. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, secure, and improve the Service.
- Authenticate users (including WhatsApp OTP for players and portal login for organizers).
- Operate tournaments, scorekeeping, rankings, and public score links.
- Connect to YouTube and create or control live broadcasts and stream keys that you request.
- Send transactional messages you initiate (for example OTP codes or score links).
- Respond to support requests and meet legal obligations.
5. Google API Services Limited Use
Carrom Live’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- Google user data obtained via YouTube OAuth is used only to provide or improve user-facing livestreaming features in Carrom Live.
- We do not use that data for advertising, including retargeting, personalized, or interest-based ads.
- We do not sell Google user data or transfer it to third parties except as needed to operate the Service (for example our hosting providers), to comply with law, or with your direction.
- Human access to Google user data is limited to security, compliance, and support cases where access is necessary, or where you have provided affirmative consent.
6. How we share information
We may share information with:
- Service providers that host infrastructure, databases, messaging, file storage, or analytics under contractual obligations to protect the data.
- Google / YouTube, when you connect an account and we call YouTube API Services to perform actions you request.
- Other users, when you publish tournament, score, or stream information intended to be public (for example public profiles, standings, watch links).
- Authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
We do not sell personal information.
7. Storage and security
We store account, tournament, and YouTube connection data on our databases and cloud providers with industry-standard administrative and technical controls. OAuth tokens are stored so we can renew access and perform livestream actions you request. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; we work to protect your information but cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business, security, and legal purposes. YouTube OAuth tokens and related stream metadata are retained while your YouTube connection remains active or until you disconnect or request deletion.
9. Your choices and rights
- Disconnect YouTube: use disconnect controls in the portal club settings or Stream page where available.
- Revoke Google access: at any time visit Google Account permissions (also described at Google security settings) and remove Carrom Live.
- Profile updates: players can edit profile details after WhatsApp login; organizers manage club data in the portal.
- Deletion requests: email support@carromlive.com to request deletion of stored account or Google/YouTube connection data. We will delete or anonymize eligible data as soon as reasonably possible and within 7 calendar days of a verified request, except where we must retain information for legal, security, or operational reasons (for example completed tournament records you or a club published).
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
11. International users
We may process information in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to those locations.
12. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date. If we change how we use Google user data in a material way, we will provide notice and obtain any additional consent required before using that data for the new purpose.
